REEBOK PERSONAL PROJECT
During my design apprenticeship at Reebok HQ I chose to design a unisex print collection and an innovative apparel look inspired by FKA Twigs, an influential musician, dancer and performer. Her music is strange and uncomfortable yet seductive and flowing. The tension in her music encouraged me to let ropes tell her stories in my prints, as well as hands to add a grotesque but playful element to the imagery. The prints I created are chaotic and intricate but have a constant rhythm and flow. The colors I chose are reflective of FKA Twigs' vibe and personality she portrays in her music videos, live performances, and photoshoots. All prints started out hand drawn and were then brought in digitally. The silhouettes of the apparel are inspired by this storyline as well playing with tension vs. freedom/flow.
